The Homer City Gas Plant and Data Center Project must be stopped - before the tech bros kill us all

These data centers aren't good. In any way, at all. The internet doesn't need these hyperscale data centers just to keep showing you cat videos and to FaceTime your grandkids. These data centers are so big because they are storing magnitudes more information - about you, your family, your house, your car, your spending habits, eating habits, drinking habits; they are going to track every biometric they can, down to the blood vessel patterns in your eyeballs. There will be no hiding from anything or anyone. No such thing as anonymity anymore.

They are doing this to control you. Your actions. Your thoughts. Your money. If they can track you and predict what you'll do next, then they can sell you anything. They can get you to waste your money on anything as you're scrolling through their apps, bored, not using that big, beautiful brain that you were born with. They will squeeze every cent they can from you while the CFO of your company denies raises for the third year in a row "due to lower-than-projected profits" - they still profited, and you're still slaving away for them, not owning any of the labor you yourself produce.

Your neighbors aren't your enemies, and it's time to start thinking bigger. We can make change happen, we can make life better for everyone. You just have to be willing to put the work in. And stop being an asshole.
